dc.description.abstractObjective: The present research project aims to identify possible low back pain in caregivers of children's neurological patients. Methods: It is a cross-sectional analytical study. A questionnaire developed by the researchers with the personal informations of the caregiver and the measurement of pain by the Visual Analogue Scale (EVA) was applied. The study sample consisted of 107 caregivers, the largest proportion being female (97.2%). Results: The act of caring is usually associated with the mother figure (85%). In the questioning about the presence of low back pain, it was verified that (83.2%) caregivers reported having pain or lumbar discomfort. Conclusion: The study concluded that most caregivers of children's neurological complaints interviewed had significant pain/discomfort. Therefore, it is emphasized that caregivers need more attention, as well as the importance of their inclusion in patient rehabilitation.pt_BR

Métodos: É um estudo analítico transversal. Foi aplicado um questionário desenvolvido pelos pesquisadores com informações pessoais do cuidador e a mensuração da dor pela Escala Visual Analógica (EVA). A amostra do estudo foi composta por 107 cuidadores, sendo a maior proporção do sexo feminino (97,2%). Resultados: O ato de cuidar é associado geralmente à figura materna (85%). No questionamento sobre a existência de lombalgia verificou-se que (83,2%) cuidadores afirmaram ter dor ou desconforto lombar. Conclusão: O estudo concluiu que a maior parte dos cuidadores de pacientes neurológicos infantis entrevistados apresentam dor/desconforto lombar significativo. Por isso, ressalta-se que os cuidadores necessitam de uma maior atenção, assim como a importância de sua inclusão na reabilitação do paciente.pt_BR
