Ansiedade, depressão e desesperança nos casais em tratamento de fertilidade no imip: um estudo transversal

Abstract

PURPOSE: Assess anxienty, depression and hopelessness of couples followed up by the Human Reproduction Service of the Instituto de Medicina Integral Prof. Fernando Figueira (IMIP). METHODS: A descriptive, cross-sectional type , from July 2014 to July 2015. The population consists of couples accompanied by the Human Reproduction Service IMIP. The instruments used were the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), the Hopelessness Scale BECK - BHS, beyond Biosociodemográfico Questionnaire. The HADS was assessed in normal, mild, moderate and severe. The BHS was valued at least mild, moderate and severe. The quantitative analysis through the SPSS 13.0 software for Windows and Excel 2010 with 95% confidence. RESULTS: A total of 272 participants, 156 women and 116 men with a median age of 35,5 years, where 67.6% live in the metropolitan region of the reef being 27.6% in Recife. The married civil state with 84.5%, and the income of 3-5 minimum wages (52.2%). The median of 96 months of sex without using contraception and median of 60 months of medical evaluation. 81.6% say there is no changes in sexual life with the investigation. The difficulty to talk about infertility is observed in 13.24% of the partners (as). In working life, the change in revenue by 8.8%. The assessment of anxiety and depression was observed at normal rating anxiety (79%) and standard depression (87.9%). The evaluation of hopelessness was found mild (15,8%) and moderate (2,6%) levels. CONCLUSION: The levels of anxiety and depression in couples in fertility treatment were higher than those of the general population, according to the literature. But the level of hopelessness may not be well assessed due to lack of literature.
