Abstract: The guarantee of relevant and safe data in food labeling is a right established by the Code of Protection and Consumer Protection that contributes to the selection of better products. The objective of this study was to analyze the nutritional labeling of breads marketed under the name "integral" and to compare the information and values described in the packages with those required by the legislation. We collected 27 samples from nine different brands of breads with the words "integral" on the label. The labeling of whole-grain breads was analyzed by means of a pre-structured form containing the items required by the Resolutions of the Collegiate Board of Directors - RDCs: n ° 26 of July 2, 2015, n ° 54 of November 12, 2012, n No. 259 of September 20, 2002, No. 263 of September 22, 2005, No. 359 of December 23, 2003, No. 360 of December 23, 2003. The labels analyzed in this study, for the most part, contained several irregularities in relation to the recommended objectives, showing negligence on the part of companies and lack of supervision by the competent bodies, which could harm the health of the consumer and the work of the nutrition professional.
