Abstract

Objective:To describethe profile of pediatric caregivers, as well as their quality of life, importance and their main difficulties in caring for the child with neurological dysfunction. Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional study carried out at the Specialized Center for Rehabilitation (CER IV) of the Institute of Integral Medicine, Prof. Fernando Figueira (IMIP). The research was divided into two parts. At the first moment the purpose of the research was explained and the consent form was given. In the second one, after consent, a sociodemographic profile and a quality of life questionnaire were applied WHOQOL- Bref, with objective questions, divided into four domains: Physical, Psychological, Social Relations and Environment. Results: The total sample consisted of 30 caregivers, being 100% female, predominant age group with 31 to 49 years. Regarding the quality of life of the caregivers, we observed worse quality of life outcomes in the Environment domain Conclusion: The results of this study are predominantly women, as the main caretaker, dedicate their time in favor of children with physical disabilities, allowing them to stay in the background, because they remain for a long time in the care function.
