Abstract

Hyposodium salt is a product made from the mixture of sodium chloride with other salts. Nutritional labeling is the main connection between the consumer and the product, being an important means of nutritional education. The objective of this work is to verify the adequacy of the information presented in the labeling of hyposodium salts, in face of the legislation in force, indicating the possible inadequacies. All the brands analyzed showed divergences in relation to some item recommended in Ordinance No 54, of July 4, 1995, which regulates the use of hyposodium salt.
