O gênero que nos contém: o olhar da psicoterapia analítica sobre a identidade de gênero

Abstract

In the Western world, gender boundaries are stricter than those of sexuality. Through its theoretical framework, Analytical Psychology can contribute to contemporary discussions about gender. The objective of this research is to analyze the understanding of five psychologists, who have their approach in Analytical Psychology, regarding the gender subject in their clinical practice. A qualitative research was carried out, according to the methodological proposal of the symbolic-archetypal processing. As a data collection instrument, a semi-structured interview was used and the material was organized into categories mapped by thematic axes. This research was approved by the Research Ethics Committee (CAAE: 95195918.6.0000.5569). The results were divided into three thematic axes: gender, symbols and analytical clinic. From which one can perceive the articulation between distinct theories (Analytical Psychology and Queer Theory) to explain gender. The division of symbols into two groups (anima and animus) and creativity as a possible solution for gender crystallization were also made. It was observed the importance of articulating several theories for a more complete understanding of the subject.
