Impacto da dor lombar na qualidade de vida de cuidadores de pacientes neurológicos infantis atendidos no centro de reabilitação do imip segundo whoqol-bref

Abstract

Objective: Evaluate the quality of life of caregivers of children’s neurological patients who report low back pain/discomfort. Methods: Quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study of prevalence to which a validated questionnaire "Whoqol-bref" was applied, containing relevant questions to the evaluation of quality of life. The study sample consisted of 85 caregivers of children with neurological sequelae, predominantly female (97.6%). Results: In the questioning about the quality of life it was verified that (55.3%) of the interviewed caregivers presented moderate impairment of their quality of life, showing more significantly in the questions that evaluate the "Environment" domain. Conclusion: The study concluded that caregivers of children's neurological patients may become potential patients because of the overload of care provided. It should be emphasized that caregivers need greater attention and inclusion in care.
