Abstract: The nutritional labeling of foods allows the consumer to be more secure due to access to the nutritional information and the parameters indicative of the quality of their consumption. The objective of this study was to compare the information and values described in the labels of beverages based on milks and derivatives with those required by current legislation, as well as to make considerations about the commitment of nutritional information as recommended by Resolution RDC n ° 360/03 ANVISA / MS. The evaluation was carried out by means of a pre- structured and standardized form containing all the items required by Brazilian legislation: RDC Resolutions nº259, of September 20, 2002, RDC nº 359 and nº 360, of December 23, 2003, determined by the National Sanitary Surveillance (ANVISA), the data obtained were confronted with the current legislation, to verify the adequacy to the same . The protein value was analyzed for compliance / nonconformity with the specific technical regulation. A total of 75 labels were evaluated, 42 milk labels with addition, 9 non-addition milk labels, 23 fermented milk beverage labels with addition, and a fermented milk label with no addition. It is concluded that the verification of compliance with legal requirements in relation to food labeling should be intensified to minimize problems related to food misuse, therefore, greater oversight by the responsible agencies is required to ensure that food labels provide adequate information as required by Brazilian legislation.
