Abstract: Introduction: The baby with Myelomeningocele is affected by a congenital malformation, with failure to join the elements of the spine. Focusing on the psychic constitution and family dynamics of these babies, this qualitative research in Health Psychology intersected psychoanalytic and systemic concepts. Objective: To analyze the biographical narratives built around babies with Myelomeningocele, followed up in a CER-IV. Method: Medical records were used; interviews; genetograms; sociodemographic files and observations, considering biographical reports, treated by content analysis. Results and Discussions: Four mothers and their babies contributed to the categories: Psychic reorganizations in the arrival of the baby with MMC; Maternal Affections and Family postures in front of the baby with MMC. Conclusions: A space for speech was provided for the mothers, positioning the baby as an interlocutor and recognizing him as a future subject, inserted into their family system. Keywords: Meningomyelocele; Mental Health; Rehabilitation Centers; Psychoanalysis; Systems Analysis.
