Abstract: Introduction: Zika virus infection (ZIKV) can cause congenital Zika Syndrome (SZC) in newborns of infected mothers during pregnancy. Among the changes that could occur in this syndrome, the development of hydrocephalus was observed. Description: A case-series study was carried out, with a descriptive and retrospective character. SZC patients with development of hydrocephalus who underwent surgical intervention for the implantation of peritoneal ventricle shunt (DVT) at IMIP between November 2015 and May 2017 were included. A total of 25 patients were analyzed, but 5 cases were analyzed Due to lack of data. Most of the children studied (88%) presented some manifestation suggestive of hydrocephalus. The main signs and symptoms found were vomiting (40%), irritability (30%), presence of disjunction suture (10%), hypoactivity (10%) and dysphagia (25%), with an increase in seizure episodes , As the main one (55%). Discussion: ZIKV was consolidated as the causative factor of SZC in the studied children. In the imaging studies associated with ZIKV infection, we can observe changes such as ventriculomegaly, lysencephaly, cerebellar hypoplasia, calcification at the cortical-subcortical junction and in the basal ganglia. During the writing of the article, hydrocephalus was only mentioned in the literature among some of the possible changes to occur in SZC.
