Abstract: Introduction: As a result of their work profile, submitted to high levels of physical and emotional exhaustion, one of the groups most susceptible to Burnout Syndrome is that of military police officers, currently described as the second profession with a greater predisposition to develop the condition and the possibility of interference in quality of life. Objectives: To evaluate the level of Burnout Syndrome in military police in the state of Pernambuco, correlating with quality of life and sociodemographic profile. Methods: Descriptive study, cross-sectional type conducted between 2017 and 2018, with military police of the Shock Battalion and 19º PMPE Battalion. Data were collected through the Whoqol bref for quality of life and the Maslach Burnout Inventory. Results: Among the 206 participants, 89.8% were men, 49.0% between 31 and 40 years, and the most frequent patents were welded (74.8%) and cables (12.6%) with service time between 0 to 5 years. In the analysis, it was observed that 38.3% presented average emotional exhaustion, 54.7% mean depersonalization and 53.4% low professional achievement, with more worrying values in the 19th Battalion. However, only 16% could be characterized as SB. As for the quality of life, it was observed that the best means were obtained by the participants of the Shock Battalion. Conclusion: The labor characteristic of this group has an influence on psychosocial health and quality of life. The zeal for individual and collective well-being becomes of paramount importance due to the relevance of the work carried out by this group, providing a social gain.
