Abstract: Introduction: Bariatric surgery has positive results in the physical, psychological and quality of life. However, candidates that are submited in this process have a big of starting an eating disorder. Estimated that 20 to 70% of those patients soffer from some kind of mental disorder. Objective: Analise the risk of eating disorder and also the quality of life of the patients after the surgery. Methods: Transversal analytic studies of 32 patients undergoing bariatric surgery. To identify eating disorders, periodic food compulsion disorders and avaliation of quality of life were used respectively questionnaires Eating Attitudes Test, Binge Eating Scale e Bariatric Analysis and Reporting Outcome System. The variables were examined according to the normality of the distribution by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. The variables normal distribution had the averages compared "t" Student test. To verify existence of association about the variable categories was applied the test Pearson's Chi-square and Fisher's exact test. The level of significance was used p<0.005. Results and Discussion: The demographic and anthropometric results of the patients were used in nine variables. Female gender were more prevalent (81.8%) in the surgery. Was verified the junction of eating desorder and time after sugery. 31,22% of the patients less than 24 months present eating desorder after surgery. Conclusion: Aparentely the eating desorder developted depend on the time after surgery and also level of obesity that the pacient was before the surgery.
