Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the nutritional status, through anthropometry, of galactosemic patients at the center of treatment of inborn errors of metabolism. Methodology: Clinical study, type of case series, carried out with children with galactosemia. At the first moment, the data were acquired in the medical record and secondly, personal interview, through a semi-structured questionnaire with information on socioeconomic, demographic conditions and anthropometric data. The evaluation of the nutritional status was performed using measures of weight, height (E), Body Mass Index (BMI), Arm Circumference (CB) and Tricipital Cut Fold (DCT). The data was tabulated in the Excel program for Windows®. Results: Four patients, aged between 2 and 8 years old, were followed, and the family income was, on average, three minimum wages and the majority came from the metropolitan region of Recife. Three of the patients were classified with eutrophy, according to BMI for age, and with E suitable for age. Regarding the parameters of DCT and CB, evaluated only in the second moment of the interview, three of the patients presented adequate percentage of DCT and half of the sample classified with eutrophy by CB. Conclusion: It was observed that these patients under nutritional monitoring showed an improvement in nutritional status.
