dc.description.abstractOBJETIVO: Comparar a funcionalidade na admissão e no desfecho do internamento através da escala Play Performance Scale for Children (PPSC). MÉTODOS: estudo descritivo, prospectivo, do tipo coorte. Foram incluídas crianças de 1-19 anos, internadas nas unidades de pediatria do IMIP, cujos responsáveis e crianças maiores de seis anos sem déficit cognitivo aceitaram participar da pesquisa. A coleta de dados foi realizada em intervalos de 48 a 96h, de abril/2018 a maio/2019, desde a admissão até a alta hospitalar ou óbito. Foi utilizado um formulário padronizado com dados sobre o perfil biológico, sociodemográfico, doença de base e funcionalidade dos pacientes. RESULTADOS: A idade média dos pacientes foi de 7,5 anos. Dentre as características sociodemográficas, 52,5% dos pacientes eram pardos e 46,2% eram da Grande Recife. Sobre a doença de base e acompanhamento ambulatorial, 56% apresentavam doenças oncológicas ou do sistema nervoso, com uma evolução da doença superior a três anos, 90% tem acompanhamento com especialista médico e 67,5% com equipe multiprofissional. A avaliação comparativa da funcionalidade na admissão e alta, observou melhora da performance em 21,25% deles. CONCLUSÃO: Com esses resultados, observa-se a necessidade de uma abordagem precoce sobre CP pediátricos, independente do grau de funcionalidade do paciente.pt_BR
dc.description.sponsorshipOBJECTIVE: To evaluate and diagnose children with chronic or severe diseases admitted to the Instituto de Medicina Integral Prof. Fernando Figueira (IMIP) METHODS: A descriptive, prospective, cohort study. Were included children from age 1-19 years, admitted to the IMIP Pediatric Units, whose parents and children, over six years without cognitive impairment, agreed to participate in the research. Data collection was performed at 48 to 96h intervals, from April 2018 to May 2019, from admission to hospital discharge or death. A standardized form with data on the biological profile, sociodemographic, underlying disease and functionality of the patients was used. RESULTS: The average age of the patients was 7.5 years. Among the sociodemographic characteristics, 52.5% of the patients were “brown race” and 46.2% were from Great Recife. Regarding the basis disease and outpatient follow-up, 56% had oncological or nervous system diseases, with an evolution of the disease over three years, 90% of patients had follow-up with a medical specialist and 67.5% with a multidisciplinary team. The comparative assessment of functionality at admission and discharge, observed performance improvement in 21.25% of them. CONCLUSION: With these results, there is a need for an early approach to pediatric palliative care, regardless of the patient's degree of functionality.pt_BR
