dc.description.abstractObjetivo: Identificar o tempo de duração do efeito analgésico oferecido pela Neuroestimulação Elétrica Transcutânea (TENS) no modo Acupuntural nas primeiras 24 horas pós-aplicação em pacientes que apresentam sintoma doloroso crônico independente de sua etiologia. Método: Estudo quantitativo e de intervenção, sendo a população composta por pacientes com dores crônicas que estavam na lista de espera do setor de fisioterapia em traumato-ortopedia e reumatologia do Centro Especializado em Reabilitação IV (CER IV) do Instituto de Medicina Integral Professor Fernando Figueira – IMIP. Os pacientes foram selecionados por conveniência e de acordo com os critérios de elegibilidade. A coleta de dados foi realizada em três etapas, tendo início após aprovação do comitê de ética em pesquisa do IMIP. Em seguida os dados coletados foram devidamente tabulados e analisados estatisticamente. Resultados: O número total de participantes foi 28 e dentre estes 71,42 % referiram dor constante. Para tratar a dor foi identificado que 70% dos participantes administrava fármacos. Entre a média da EVA inicial e a média 24 horas pós tratamento a melhora foi de 26,95%. Conclusão: Foi observado que o uso da TENS na modalidade acupuntural por 30 minutos obteve em média uma duração da analgesia de 9 horas e seu uso reduziu também a necessidade de administração farmacológica.pt_BR
dc.description.sponsorshipObjective: To identify the duration of analgesic effect offered by Transcutaneous Electrical Neurostimulation (TENS) in Acupuncture mode in the first 24 hours after application in patients with chronic painful symptoms, regardless of their etiology. Method: Quantitative and intervention study, with the population composed of patients with chronic pain who were on the waiting list of the trauma and orthopedic physiotherapy sector of the Specialized Center for Rehabilitation IV (CER IV) of Professor Fernando Institute of Integral Medicine Fig Tree - IMIP. Patients were selected by convenience and according to eligibility criteria. Data collection was performed in three stages, starting after approval by the IMIP research ethics committee. Then the collected data were properly tabulated and statistically analyzed. Results: The total number of participants was 28 and among these 71.42% reported constant pain. To treat pain it was identified that 70% of participants administered drugs. Between the mean initial VAS and the average 24 hours after treatment the improvement was 26.95%. Conclusion: It was observed that the use of TENS in acupuncture modality for 30 minutes had an average analgesia duration of 9 hours and its use also reduced the need for pharmacological administration.pt_BR
