Resumo: Objectives: To evaluate the degree of impairment in the neurological development of children with congenital Zika virus (SCZv) syndrome. Methods: Descriptive, exploratory study, type series of cases, developed at the Instituto de Medicina Integral Prof. Fernando Figueira -IMIP, Recife / PE, from December 2016 to April 2017, involving children with SCZv accompanied by a multidisciplinary team. Socio-demographic and clinical data were collected and the Denver II Screening Test (TTDD-R) was applied in the neuropediatric evaluation. Results: The sample consisted of 22 children, mainly from the Metropolitan Region of Recife (54.5%), with median age 19.7 months and 59.1% female. The median cephalic perimeter was 39 cm and 95.2% of the patients had epileptiform seizures. The main findings of cranioencephalic computerized axial tomography were calcifications (89.5%), ventriculomegaly (73.4%) and alteration in the sulcal pattern (42.1%). In TTDD-R, all were classified as developmentally delayed, with neurological age corresponding to 0 to 8 months and greater impairment in the language area. Conclusion: Children with SCZv during the second year of life have parameters of neuropsychomotor development less than or equal to 8 months. Further studies are needed to determine the support needs for the development, of social framework aiming to improve the quality of life of patients with SCZv.
