Análise de qualidade de vida em pacientes com reações hansênicas em centros de referência no Recife

Abstract

Objectives: to analyze the quality of life of patients with leprosy reactions attended at reference centers in the city of Recife. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in which the short form 36 questionnaire (SF-36) was applied to the patients during the study. This study was realized in the Dermatology clinic of the Institute of Integral Medicine Prof. Fernando Figueira (IMIP) and the Dermatology department of Hospital Otávio de Freitas (HOF), tertiary level hospitals that make up the single health system and have assistance to patients with leprosy and its complications. Results: In the relationship between the questionnaire score and the gender of individuals with leprosy reaction, there was only a statistically significant difference in the field of "Mental health". The correlation between SF-36 domains as Age and Time of Function of individuals with leprosy reaction was observed that there was a significant correlation between "Function Time" and the domain "Mental Health". Conclusions: it’s necessary a broader scope in SUS for individuals with Hansen's disease, thus broadening clinical management for their psychic and social spheres. Therefore, a patient who understands that healing medicine also requires the commitment to pursue a healthier life in all possible spheres, tends to have an extremely positive prognosis.
