Resumo: OBJECTIVES: To identify the opinion of medical students about the relevance of professional attitudes that must be assessed during the medical student formation. METHOD: A survey study was made by the Delphi technique, in the Faculdade Pernambucana de Saúde, from November 2015 till April 2016. It was required that the students of first and sixth year judge the items based on its relevance, being able to make suggestions of other items that were not in the questionnaire. The items were organized in a Likert scale of 5 points, where 1 is very irrelevant and 5 is very relevant. RESULTS: From the 300 selected students, 145 (48.33%) joined the study; 97 (66.8%) from the first year and 48 (33.10%) from the sixth year. The students considered relevant and very relevant most of the contents presented. It was observed a discrepancy between the first and the sixth year about the relevance of items under the proficiency of Honour and Integrity and Responsibility and Duties. CONCLUSION: This study represents the first degree to institute a valid instrument to assess professional attitudes and, through the feedback, fortify the students formation on the ethic aspects to a professional performance.
