Resumo: Introduction: Chronic kidney disease is characterized by loss of renal function, gradual and inconvertible. It is divided into 5 stages, with stage 5 being the indicator for initiating renal replacement therapy, such as hemodialysis. This consists of extracorporeal blood filtration , performed through a hemodialyzer, and may cause cardiovascular changes. For evaluation and monitoring of this population anthropometry presents itself as a good method. Methodology: Epidemiological, descriptive study, with quantitative approach, carried out at the Integral Medicine Institute Professor Fernando Figueira - IMIP / PE. The data were collected from nutritional monitoring sheets, medical records and questionnaire. Results: N was 59 patients, being 81.4% adults. In baseline diseases, the indeterminate cause was predominant (44.1%), followed by hypertension (10.6%). In the evaluation of body mass index, 35.6% were eutrophic, in waist circumference, 57.6% were elevated. The waist-hip ratio showed a 64.4% increase. Finally, the waist-to-height ratio measured change in 59.3% of the individuals. Discussion: The high rate of adults can be explained by the increasing number of noncommunicable chronic diseases in this population. The waist-height ratio is an alternative for central obesity because it improves waist circumference limitations. Conclusion: This study verified a high prevalence of overweight as well as visceral fat, being these indicators of cardiovascular risk and poor prognosis, justifying the importance of nutritional assessment and monitoring. For lasting improvement in nutritional status, the nutrition team can implement nutritional education measures for individuals
